Creative Direction • Strategy • Storytelling • Production.
For more than twenty-five years, I've helped organizations, brands and storytellers communicate through film.
My career has taken me across the UK, the United States, Mexico and Japan, working on feature films, documentaries, corporate communications and global content campaigns.
Originally trained in Fine Art at the City of Bath School of Art & Design, I bring a creative and strategic approach to every project. Over the years I've worked with international brands, broadcasters and production companies including Apple TV, A24, Disney Searchlight, Warner Bros., Boeing, CNN, BBC, National Geographic, Panasonic, Nissan and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Based in Tokyo and working internationally, I provide Director of Photography and camera operating services using Sony cinema cameras (FX6/FX3). I also support overseas productions filming in Japan, acting as a local bilingual production partner for crewing, logistics, production coordination and on-the-ground support.
Today my work extends beyond filmmaking. As a Creative Director and Visual Communications Consultant, I help organizations clarify their message and communicate through strategy, storytelling and production.
Technology continues to evolve. Good stories, good content, and good communication don’t need to.
Sam Perches was our Director of Photography for our second season of “Boardwalks” for the Travel Channel. He did a phenomenal job keeping up with our rapid pace and still delivered amazing quality shots. We look forward to working with him again. He also came through in a pinch for us and was able to get us great aerial drone shots for the show as well. The network loved it!
